Some HRIS integrations allow you to automatically set your company's managers as Power Users within the platform. To get started, navigate to the Settings tab of your HRIS integration and see whether it has the Designate as Power User Based on Managerial Relationships setting. If it does, enable it.

Set the Assigned Power User Role and Assigned Power User Dataset. These will be the roles and datasets that your users are assigned.

When creating your Dataset, you can opt to use Dynamic Dataset rules to make it easier to set up rules for multiple different Power Users using the same Dataset.

Additionally, in the Users section of the Dataset, you'll be able to select the following options:

Include Direct Users from HRIS Hierarchy: Assigns users who are one level below the Power User in the HRIS hierarchy.

Include Users from HRIS Hierarchy: Assigns all users who are below the Power User in the HRIS hierarchy.

As an example, let's say User 1 manages User 2. User 2 manages User 3, who in turn manages User 4.

If User 1 is assigned a Dataset that has Include Direct Users from HRIS Hierarchy, they will only manage User 2.

If User 1 is assigned a Dataset that has Include Users from HRIS Hierarchy, they will manage User 2, User 3, and User 4.

In order for this to work, you will need to ensure that you have Managers HRIS Unique Identifier mapped in the integration's Data Mapping tab.

When doing the mapping, you can only use IDs, such as Managers HRIS Unique IDentifier in ADP or Manager ID in Entra β€” emails will not work.
