Running Reports

Reporting Dashboard

The Reporting Dashboard provides quick access to the Reporting Wizard any saved report templates. It also provides an overview of the reports ran, your scheduled reports, and a history of recently-ran reports.

Report Builder

The Report Builder is a great way to get information quickly with prebuilt reports. This method is the quickest way to generate reports that don't need in-app filtering.

Click on Reporting then on Report Builder.

Use the dropdown menus to specify what kind of report you want to run.

Once you've completed all of the steps, you can preview the report within the platform, favorite it, download the file, or if you're on a supported plan, schedule them for email delivery.

Advanced Reports

Advanced Reports take a bit more time to set up, but give you much more flexibility due to the inclusion of filtering functionality.

Click on on Advanced Reports under Reporting.

There are several links you can use to quickly choose a report to use a starting point.

You can also start from scratch using the Build Your Own Report section.

Regardless of which option you choose, you will be taken to this page. If you want to generate the report as-is, just click on Generate Report. However, Advanced Reports allow you to tailor the final report to suit your requirements with filters and columns.

To customize the report, click on both Edit Columns and Add Filter.

The Edit Columns button allows you to choose which columns are visible in the final report. You can use the None or All buttons to (de)select all checkboxes.

Add Filter lets you can specify the rules determining how the report narrows down the information that it provides.

Once you choose the main criteria for the filter, you can then use the drop-down menus to finalize the filter. For example, this filter will only show users whose last login dates were in this calendar year.

Alternatively, by selecting Invert this filter, you can flip the logic around. In the example above, the filter would then become users whose last login dates were before this calendar year.

You can keep layering filters to narrow down the results. When finished, click Generate Report.

You'll be able to view the generated report within SkyPrep, download a copy, schedule it to be run and emailed out on a set schedule, and add it to your Favorite Reports.

To view previously generated versions of the same report, click on the History dropdown.

The Scheduled Reports and Favorite Reports areas let you see all scheduled and favorited reports respectively, with options to edit and delete them.

Reporting Wizard

The Reporting Wizard is a combination of the Report Builder’s ease of use with the flexibility of Advanced reporting.

To access it, click on Reporting then Reporting Wizard.

Select the Report Type you want, then any follow-up choices, before clicking the Generate Report button.

On the preview page, you have the same options to Edit Columns and Add Filters (click Update Report to apply your changes), as well as to Favorite, Schedule, and Download the report.

The Reporting Wizard also provides graphical reports, accessed by clicking the Visual tab once the report has generated.
