The relationship between Before/After and Ago/From Now (such as after 1 year ago) can be described using the image below, regardless of whether you're using days, months, or years:

For example, if today is January 1st 2025, a filter using "After 1 Year Ago" would include days from January 1st 2024 to January 1st 2025, while a filter using "Before 1 Year Ago" would include any date prior to January 1st 2024.
