Creating Courses in Bulk Using SCORM Content

Written by Stephen Krzeminski

If you have multiple SCORM packages that you want to upload into the platform and turn into individual courses, you can use the bulk upload area in your platform's Materials section.

Drag-and-drop the SCORM ZIP files into the highlighted area at the bottom of the page.

Please ensure that each of the packages are individually zipped, and that:

  1. There are no spaces, special characters, quotes and dashes in the filename.

  2. The imsmanifest.xml file is in the root of the ZIP file.

  3. The SCORM package does not contain any additional ZIP files inside.

SkyPrep supports up to 99 simultaneous file uploads, although we recommend uploading in smaller batches in the event your internet connection unexpectedly drops during the upload process.

After the packages have been uploaded, SkyPrep will begin the process of unzipping the packages. The packages will not be available for use until the process has finished. If you see the This SCORM package is still being prepared. Please try again in a few minutes. message, the unzipping process is still underway for that item.

We recommend waiting ~15 minutes per SCORM package, so if you uploaded 99, they should all be available for use in 24 hours.

Once they are all unzipped, use the checkboxes to the left of the items to select the packages you want to convert into courses, then click the Convert to Courses button.

Accept the prompt, and each SCORM package will have a corresponding course created for it.

Note: This will create one course per selected item, with each course housing one item. If you want to have multiple items in a single course, you will need to manually create the course(s).
